MONTREAL — The respective heads of Metro Inc.’s Ontario and Quebec divisions will exchange duties next year, the retailer here said. Alain Brisebois, currently senior vice president of Metro’s Ontario division, has been appointed senior vice president of the Quebec division. Robert Sawyer, currently a senior vice president in Quebec, will assume the same role in the Ontario division. The changes will be effective Jan. 3. “This reorganization will allow the company to better meet the challenges of the competitive food retailing industry,” Metro said in a statement. The retailer recently said sales in Ontario had faltered amid a transition to new technology systems and heavy price competition.
