SHEBOYGAN, Wis. — Piggly Wiggly Midwest said Tuesday that it would open a new Piggly Wiggly supermarket at the site of a former Kmart store in Beloit, Wis.
The retailer said the new store will occupy around 50,000 square feet of the building, and plans call for a junior anchor to occupy around 20,000 square feet. The store is set to open in mid-2013, Piggly Wiggly said.
“We are excited to bring Piggly Wiggly to Beloit,” Paul Butera, owner of Piggly Wiggly Midwest, said in a statement. “Customers are going to love the weekly specials, the quality and value of our store brand products along with the highest quality bakery, deli, produce and meat products.”
Piggly Wiggly Midwest will now supply 102 Piggly Wiggly supermarkets in the greater Wisconsin and northern Illinois areas, as well as nine Butera Market stores, two Eurofresh stores in the Chicago area plus three Lena’s Food stores in the Milwaukee area.
