Whole Foods Names Buechel CIO

AUSTIN, Texas — Whole Foods Market here said Monday it has hired Jason J. Buechel as global vice president and chief information officer.

AUSTIN, Texas — Whole Foods Market here said Monday it has hired Jason J. Buechel as global vice president and chief information officer.

Buechel will report directly to co-chief executive officers Walter Robb and John Mackey and to Glenda Flanagan, Whole Foods’ chief financial officer. He will oversee the technology team in Austin and 12 regional offices in the U.S. and United Kingdom.

“In addition to enhancing our existing IT capabilities, Jason will play a significant role in helping expand and improve our customer experience through the use of technology,” Robb said in a statement.

Buechel comes to Whole Foods after 12 years at Accenture, most recently as senior executive and managing director in the retail operations practice.
