Wild Oats Executives Leave; Stores Slated for Closure

Four top executives from Wild Oats Markets have left the company following its acquisition last week by Whole Foods Market, Austin, Texas, a spokeswoman for Wild Oats told SN.

BOULDER, Colo. — Four top executives from Wild Oats Markets here have left the company following its acquisition last week by Whole Foods Market, Austin, Texas, a spokeswoman for Wild Oats told SN. In addition to Gregory Mays, the former Wild Oats chairman who had also been acting chief executive officer and acting chief financial officer, other executives who have left include: Roger Davidson, senior vice president of merchandising and marketing; Sam Martin, senior vice president, operations; and Jon Payne, vice president of IT. Also, employees at some Wild Oats locations have been notified that their stores will be closed, according to local reports. One store in Nashville, Tenn., will close in late October, as confirmed by Wild Oats; another in Louisville, Ky., will close in the next 90 days, reports said; and a third in Portland, Maine, also is slated for closure soon, a local source told SN.
