Affiliated Foods Midwest said that it provided $57 million in cash patronage rebates to its member-owners this year, with the average annual rebate increasing to 4.75% of purchases.

Affiliated Foods Midwest said that it provided $57 million in cash patronage rebates to its member-owners this year, with the average annual rebate increasing to 4.75% of purchases.

The cooperative wholesaler made the announcement as part of its Fall Foods Show held recently in Omaha. The AFM show featured nine impactful educational seminars and more than 580 vendor booths.

In an awards ceremony at the event, Dean’s Foods was named Vendor of the Year in honor of its partnership with the cooperative, and AFM presented “Vision Impact 2020” recognition to Pinnacle Foods and Topco for their profound impact adapting their business model to improve their costs to service. Ken Fiedler of Ken’s Super Fair Foods, Aberdeen, S.D., was named Retailer of the Year for business and community efforts.

During the annual board meting, AFM elected Elliot Christensen to the board of directors, while Bill Sanger retired from the board after 29 years of service.
