The Brookshire Grocery Company has purchased land in Longview, Texas, with plans to build a new Fresh by Brookshire store, reports local affiliate KLTV.

The grocer currently operates two stores under the format — both in Texas — which was introduced in 2011 and was built on the concept of “Sharing the Wonders of Food.”

The Tyler, Texas-based retailer is working with the city of Longview and the Longview Economic Development Corporation on the plans, and details will be provided when final decisions are made.

“With more than 95 years of service to the East Texas community, we are dedicated to continuing to grow our service to our neighbors,” Jones told KLTV.

Brookshire Grocery Co. operates more than 200 stores under the Brookshire’s, Super 1 Foods, FRESH by Brookshire’s, Spring Market and Reasor’s banners, along with three distribution centers and a corporate office in Tyler, Texas.
