Independent chain Cermak Fresh Market has purchased a closed Dominick’s store in Chicago’s West Rogers Park neighborhood, city officials said.
Family-owned Cermak operates 13 stores in Illinois and Wisconsin known for fresh departments and ethnic selections catering to Mexican, Puerto Rican, Greek, Italian, Polish, Russian and other European and Latin American cultures.
The purchase was reported by Debra Silverstien, an alderman for Chicago’s 50th Ward.
As previously reported, Safeway shuttered its unsold Dominick's locations in December and is seeking buyers for the locations.
