New Star Market Formats Revealed

WEST BRIDGEWATER, Mass. — Shaw’s and Star Market on Friday announced the grand reopening of four Boston-area Star Market locations.

The stores, located in Dorchester, Belmont and two in Cambridge, showcased new layouts and design emphasizing Star Markets’ focus on high-quality fresh foods and service, the company said.

"Star Market has a long-standing and recognizable brand throughout the region, and these four stores represent the beginning of the fresh vision we have to build the Star Market brand for the future," Shane Sampson, president, Shaw’s and Star Market, said in a statement. "A lot of hard work went into the planning and revamp of these locations to ensure we are providing customers the quality products and premium customer service they deserve and expect from us. This is an important first step in our vision to make the Star Market brand the finest supermarket experience for customers, and it’s exciting to see these new locations come to fruition."

To bring the Star Market vision to life, the company made significant investments in the stores including new layouts and color palettes, updated food cases and the addition of express lanes for more personal service. The new concept places an emphasis on high-quality fresh foods, and customers will experience in many departments, including seafood; expanded produce sections including larger organic sets, local selections and fresh-cut produce; a larger prepared food section; and more natural and organic offerings in grocery.
