Save Mart Supermarkets, Modesto, Calif., said George Bettencourt has been awarded the company's Nicholas J. Tocco Award as store manager of the year.
Bettencourt manages a store in Ceres, Calif. The award is named for Tocco, who was a co-founder of Save Mart. The chain said nominees for the award must meet the company's standards for store performance, customer service and community involvement.
In addition to the award itself — an etched blown-glass vase — Bettencourt also won a travel voucher worth $2,500 plus $2,500 in cash.
