SN Top 10: More retailers report double-digit sales gains

The massive onion recall across the U.S. and Canada tops this edition of Supermarket News’ Top 10 trending stories, but a major M&A development and the continued boom in retail sales also made the list:

  • Ahold Delhaize sees U.S. Q2 sales jump over 18%
  • Ingles Markets posts another double-digit sales gain in Q3
  • Onion recall tied to salmonella outbreaks in 34 states, Canada
  • Sales at Publix jump 20% in second quarter
  • 7-Eleven buying 3,900 Speedway stores in $21 billion deal
