Vallarta Supermarkets continues growth with opening of 51st store

Latino-owned grocery chain debuts newest store in Madera, Calif.

Vallarta Supermarkets, one of the largest Latino-owned supermarket chains in California, celebrated the grand opening of its 51st store on Wednesday in Madera, Calif. The retailer will also be opening a new location in Indio, Calif., next month.

The opening of the new 60,000-square-foot Madera Vallarta Supermarket offers the community a new go-to destination for fresh, quality products, including a wide variety of food and services including "La Cocina" (Authentic Mexican Taqueria and Kitchen) with recipes serving authentic meals and fresh sushi prepared daily by an in-house sushi chef. Customers will also be offered a full-service floral department and an expanded liquor/wine selection.

The new Vallarta Supermarket in Madera, Calif., offers the highest quality and a wide variety of fresh produce.

Vallarta Supermarkets, known as the "Home of the Original Carne Asada," will also have a full- service Carniceria (meat department) and seafood department offering fresh, top grade meats, poultry and seafood, along with grass-fed and organic selections. The Panaderia (bakery) will be serving sweet and savory baked goods made from scratch including pan dulce, bolillos, succulent cakes, pastries and more. The Tortilleria will produce freshly made tortillas and masa for customers' tamale-making needs. The Produce Department will offer the highest quality and a wide variety of fresh produce. The Cremeria (Deli) features a wide selection of fresh Latin- style cheeses, cremas, store-prepared chorizos, salsas, guacamole and pico de gallo. A Fresh Juice Bar will provide refreshing made-to-order fruit beverages and ice cream.

Madera Mayor Andrew J. Medellin, local officials and dignitaries joined Vallarta Supermarket’s executive team for a ribbon-cutting ceremony, following public health guidelines, to mark the official grand opening.

The store will also have a positive economic impact on the central California city of Madera, bringing about 250 new jobs to the local community.
