Hannaford's new small store — a concept that could take the brand into new sites where full-size supermarket sites are typically hard to find — is scheduled to open Saturday in North Berwick, Maine.
Here are some photos SN has obtained from the store, which at 20,000 square feet is less than the half the size of Hannaford's standard prototype. Officials said the unit would emphasize fresh while offering an edited selection of everyday grocery items that customers buy most.
Hannaford, based in Scarborough, Maine, is a division of Delhaize America. Photos, courtesy of Hannaford, reveal new graphics for the anchor fresh department; a view into a center-store aisle; and the storefront.
