ANKENY, Iowa — Hy-Vee has opened a new 93,000-square-foot location here with a new sit-down Market Grille restaurant and café, sushi bar, bulk foods, and salsa and hummus bar.

The store’s culinary and health focus will be supported by six professional chefs and two staff dietitians.

“The supermarket industry is changing rapidly, and companies that don’t invest in new facilities and new technology will be left behind by consumers,” said CEO Randy Edeker in a press release.

“We have pledged to our customers and our employees that Hy-Vee will maintain the most innovative, up-to-date stores in every community in which we operate.”

This location is Hy-Vee’s 234th store.
