Whole Foods Sponsors Project Green Dorm

AUSTIN, Texas — Whole Foods Market in partnership with eBay Green and a student-led environmental and social responsibility movement called Teens Turning Green, is launching its first Project Green Dorm Makeover Contest.

AUSTIN, TexasWhole Foods Market, in partnership with eBay Green and a student-led environmental and social responsibility movement called Teens Turning Green, is launching its first Project Green Dorm Makeover Contest.

College students can enter through Sept. 3 by curating the ultimate green dorm room with images and descriptions on virtual pinboard Pinterest. All boards will be uploaded to the Teens Turning Green website to share.

Michelle Paratore, a consultant with Bain & Co.; Danielle Huffaker, merchandising manager at eBay Green; and Zem Joaquin, founder of ecofabulous.com, will judge the pinboards and select the top three. The grand prize package includes a $250 Whole Foods gift card; $250 eBay Green gift card; an Omi organic pillow, comforter and pillow topper; a set of Glo-Organics organic cotton towels; and a conscious care package valued at $350. There are also prizes for second and third place.

Grand Rapids, Mich.-based Meijer is also hosting a dorm room decor contest on Pinterest for a chance to win a $500 grand prize.
