United Supermarkets Joins FoodLink Network

LUBBOCK, Texas — United Supermarkets here has selected the FoodLink buying network as its primary system for sourcing and purchasing fresh produce across more than 50 stores.

The FoodLink network consists of more than 2,000 retail grocers and their fresh food suppliers, including carriers and third-party brokers and wholesalers. The system helps suppliers manage orders, track shipments, respond to change requests, and receive payment.

“FoodLink will provide us with the real-time data that we need to improve our buying,” said Tommy Wilkins, director of produce procurement, United Supermarkets, in a statement. “Their network connects us with our suppliers and carriers to help us make the best buying decisions and improve our supply chain efficiency.”
