Price Chopper Names Two VPs

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — Price Chopper Supermarkets here said Friday that it has promoted Christina Maltbie to vice president and treasurer and hired Safeway veteran Richard Reed as vice president of produce and floral merchandising.

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — Price Chopper Supermarkets here said Friday that it has promoted Christina Maltbie (right) to vice president and treasurer and hired Safeway veteran Richard Reed (below left) as vice president of produce and floral merchandising.Christina Maltbie

Maltbie, who joined Price Chopper in 1998, most recently had been vice president and assistant treasurer. She reports to John Endres, senior vice president of finance and chief financial officer, and succeeds him as treasurer. Maltbie will be responsible for managing the treasury functions, securing debt and credit facilities and will also oversee the check collections, network settlement, cash management and compliance departments for the 128-store chain.

Richard ReedReed, with 29 years of retail experience, most recently had been a regional director at Safeway. He reports to Keith Frosceno, group vice president, fresh foods merchandising, and succeeds him as vice president of produce and floral merchandising. Reed will oversee procurement, marketing and merchandising initiatives in produce and floral.
