IGA NAMES DISTRIBUTORS AS PRESIDENT'S CUP WINNERS

CHICAGO, Ill. -- Laurel Grocer Co., Bozzuto's and IGA Distribution Queensland, Australia, were named last week as winners of the 2005 IGA President's Cup Award, the highest honor given by the worldwide supermarket alliance to its licensed distribution centers.

Laurel Grocery Co., London, Ky., will receive the IGA award for overall IGA performance. The full-line food wholesaler serves IGA retailers in Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee and West Virginia.

Bozzuto's, Cheshire, Conn., a wholesale distributor of food and household products to IGA retailers in New England, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Maryland, won for greatest IGA development.

In acknowledgement of IGA Australia's status as the world supermarket leader in same-store growth, IGA Distribution Queensland, Australia, will be the first recipient to be granted the award based upon greatest international IGA development. IGA Distribution Queensland serves IGA retailers in an area more than 1,500 square miles ranging from the far north of Queensland to northern New South Wales.

The distributors will receive their awards during IGA's 2005 International Retailers of the Year Awards Dinner Ceremony on Tuesday, March 1, at Marriott's Rancho Las Palmas Resort, Palm Springs, Calif.
