Food Lion, Children’s Museum Tell Food Story

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Food Lion and the Children’s Museum of Winston-Salem are co-hosting an event on Jan. 31 to spotlight an exhibit designed to help children understand how food gets from farm to table.

The interactive and child-friendly exhibit will be formally introduced with hoopla that will attract community attention. The exhibit aims to promote wellness by teaching children to make healthier food choices.

The new exhibit, featuring interactive video screens, will be unveiled at a ceremony attended by community leaders. Activities will include a ribbon-cutting, a tour of the exhibit, a press conference and a breakfast.

Beginning at 9:45 a.m., the event has been planned by the museum and by Salisbury, N.C.-based Food Lion, a Delhaize company that operates more than 1,100 supermarkets in 10 Southeastern and Mid-Atlantic states.
