Sean McBride, formerly EVP of communications and membership services for the Grocery Manufacturers Association, has left GMA to reconstitute his public relations and consulting firm, DSM Strategic Communications & Consulting, and to serve as Counselor at Edelman Public Relations.
GMA was among DSM's clients when McBride was hired as senior communications counselor to GMA during its merger with the Food Products Association. In 2006, he joined GMA as VP of communications, with responsibility for policy communications and marketing for conferences and educational programs. In 2012, he was named SVP of communications, and in 2013, EVP for communications and membership services.
GMA will undergo a search for his replacement, according to spokeswoman Ginny Smith Clemenko.
