Hannaford held a free webinar Tuesday on the Guiding Stars nutritional rating system.
The webinar featured Allison Stowell, a Hannaford dietitian, and Kitty Broihier, Guiding Stars’ scientific advisor, and addressed ways to make home-cooking “faster, easier and more nutritious.”
The webinar was approved for one continuing professional education credit for registered dietitians and dietetic technicians.
Guiding Stars is a shelf tag program that rates products with one, two or three stars. It was developed by Scarborough, Maine-based Hannaford Bros., and launched at that chain in 2006, and later rolled out to other Delhaize-owned chains. It offers the labeling program to other retailers and institutions though Guiding Stars Licensing Co., also based in Scarborough.
