ShopRite commemorates a decade of in-store dietitian services

ShopRite stores plan to hold events and giveaways Sept. 10-19 to acknowledge 10 years of its in-store dietitian program.

Participating stores will offer a mix of health and wellness workshops, cooking demonstrations and other in-store events.

The retailer now has 130 registered dietitians servicing nearly 140 stores in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Delaware and Maryland.

“When ShopRite launched its in-store Registered Dietitian program a decade ago, the idea of having a full-time health professional offering nutritional advice in the supermarket aisles was practically unheard of,” Natalie Menza, health & wellness manager, and the first corporate dietitian hired by ShopRite, said in a press release.

“We are extremely proud of the difference that our Registered Dietitians have made in the lives of our shoppers. Whether assisting with weight loss goals, changes in nutritional needs, helping to better understand food labels or simply finding a gluten-free option of their favorite snack, ShopRite’s goal is to educate and inspire our customers when it comes to their health and wellness needs — and we’re honored to be doing that within the communities we serve.”
