Kellogg returns Kashi to stand-alone business

The Kellogg Co. is re-establishing Kashi as a stand-alone natural food business.

The new business, including Kashi, Bear Naked and Stretch Island Fruit Co. brands, will be led by David Denholm, former president, U.S. Morning Foods, who rejoined Kellogg on Sept. 2 as Kashi Co. CEO, reporting to Kellogg chairman and CEO John Bryant. Denholm ran Kashi in 2004.

The new Kashi business will relocate back to the greater La Jolla, Calif., area. The move “provides more autonomy, and fosters the entrepreneurial culture necessary to support shorter development periods and an agile decision-making process,” according to Kellogg.
