NEW YORK — John Catsimatidis, whose Red Apple Group holding company runs the grocery chain Gristedes here, is among the high bidders for Food Emporium, a published report said.

Catsimatidis declined comment on his interest in Food Emporium to SN but Crain’s New York Business reported his group, along with the investment bank Morgan Stanley, were high bidders for Food Emporium, a 17-store gourmet chain that owner A&P, Montvale, N.J., is reportedly shopping.
