WHIDBEY ISLAND, Wash. — The Myers Group here, operator of four IGA stores in Washington, said it plans to open its fifth unit Sept. 7 — the first full-service market in downtown Tacoma, Wash.

The 16,600-square-foot Tacoma City Grocer IGA will be located in a former city parking garge that was redeveloped into an office and retail space.

"We really believe the time is right for an IGA stgore in Tacoma's downtown core," said Tyler Myers, president. "More and more people are choosing Tacoma as a place to live, work and shop."

The other four Myers-owned IGA stores are located in downtown Seattle, Camano Island, Ocean Shores and Snoqualmie Ridge.
