German discount grocer Aldi continued its rapid pace of new store openings on Thursday, launching one new location in the St. Louis, Mo., suburb of Maryland Heights and another in the Dayton, Ohio, suburb of Vandalia.

The Vandalia location is at 6415 Miller Lane, and the Maryland Heights store is at 12632 Dorsett Road.

It’s Aldi’s second Ohio location to open in 2024. The chain opened a store in the Cleveland, Ohio, suburb of Elyria on Feb. 7.

The grocer has also opened new stores in Florida, California, Arizona, and Illinois since the beginning of the year.

Aldi also made headlines in February for a new pilot program testing “Aldi Go” technology at a single store in Aurora, Ill., about a 15 minute drive from its U.S. headquarters in Batavia, Ill.

That store, located at 2275 Galena Blvd., is equipped with miniature cameras that enable shoppers to scan a QR code with an app by tech company Grabango. Their bank account or credit card is then charged automatically, allowing customers to bypass the checkout process.
