Southeastern Grocers’ Bi-Lo supermarket chain has launched same-day grocery delivery through Instacart.

Instacart said Friday that its service will be available from to customers in Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina from more than 70 Bi-Lo stores. Overall, the chain operates over 100 stores in the three states.

With the move, Bi-Lo now offers same-day online grocery delivery through both Instacart and Shipt, depending on the area. Bi-Lo began offering delivery through Target-owned Shipt in selected markets in 2018.

To use Instacart, Bi-Lo customers go online to the chain’s dedicated page on the Instacart Marketplace or open the Instacart mobile app. Next, customers select their city and preferred Bi-Lo store and begin adding groceries and other essential items to the virtual cart. An Instacart personal shopper picks, packs and deliver the order within the customer’s designated time frame that day.

Users also can schedule Instacart deliveries up to two weeks in advance. All Instacart orders default to “Leave at My Door” delivery, providing a contactless experience that allows customers to receive their deliveries safely and maintain social distancing, the San Francisco-based online grocery specialist noted.

Jacksonville, Fla.-based Southeastern Grocers also offers same-day delivery through both Instacart and Shipt at its Winn-Dixie and Harveys Supermarkets chains. In February 2019, the company launched Shipt delivery at all 26 Fresco y Más stores in Florida, noting at the time that the chain was among the first Hispanic grocers to offer home delivery for Hispanic and Caribbean shoppers in metropolitan markets across the state.
