BATAVIA, Ill. — Aldi has launched a Facebook promo in which consumers pledge to switch to Aldi private labels.

Under the “Switch and Save” sweepstakes, Facebook users who “like” the Aldi Facebook page can click on a “pledge” whereby they promise to switch to Aldi’s exclusive brands.

In doing so, Aldi says they can save 50% over national brands sold at other supermarkets. They must enter their name and address to enter the sweepstakes.

“Just Switch & Save to our exclusive brands and pay a whole lot less on the items you buy most,” Aldi writes in promotional materials.

Ten random winners will be chosen on April 12 to get a $20 Aldi gift card.

“We make saving a simple two-step process: Switch & Save,” Aldi writes on Facebook.

As of this morning, 2,266 people have taken the pledge.
