Funeral arrangements are pending for Eddie Basha, chairman emeritus of Bashas' here, which was founded by his father and his uncle in 1932. Basha, 75, died Tuesday of undisclosed causes.

In a letter to employees, Edward N. Basha III, president and chief executive officer, said his father always reinforced with him and his siblings "the importance of our members and giving back to our community.  Some of his fondest times were being with Bashas' members and customers, whether at the office, the distribution center or in the stores.

“Eddie was always larger than life. ...  Ironically, [he] never saw himself that way. He considered himself to be a Bashas' member, no different than any other, and he considered all Bashas' members to be a part of his family."

Further information on survivors was not immediately available.
