TRUMBULL, Conn. — Porricelli’s Market, which sold its location Old Greenwich, Conn. late last year to Kings Super Markets, has closed its lone remaining store.

In a statement published in local newspapers, Jerry Porricelli, president of the family-run company, said the store and its assets have been turned over to creditors.

“The store has had a lot of new competition over the past few years, which has hurt our ability to be profitable, and despite our best efforts over the past six months, we have reached the conclusion that we can no longer continue to operate the store.”
