PHOENIX — Sprouts Farmers Market here said it will open a new store in Oklahoma next week.

The store, in Norman, Okla. — in a space formerly occupied by a Hobby Lobby — is scheduled to open Wednesday, March 27. Giveaways will include free bags of groceries to the first 200 customers; free reusable grocery bags while supplies last; and muffins, milk and coffee to the first 200 people in the store.

On Saturday, March 30, the store plans to stock 20 items tagged with "golden tickets" that will entitle the customer to $20 off that purchase; special tags that will randomly print a zero amount for deli purchases; and a Sprouts Sprint, based on the old TV show Supermarket Sweeps, in which two local residents will be chosen to compete to win $1,000 in free groceries.

Although Sprouts already operates two stores in Oklahoma that it acquired from Sunflower Farmers Market last spring, the Norman location will be the first new opening in the state under the Sprouts banner.
