CVS Health introduces Well Market line

The retailer’s other private-label products will be combined in the new one

On Thursday, CVS Health announced the launch of Well Market, a line of store-brand consumable products that includes snacks, beverages, and groceries.

Well Market offers 40 new products, and the retailer plans on introducing more as the year unfolds. Meanwhile, CVS Health’s Gold Emblem, Gold Emblem abound, and Big Chill product lines will be placed under the Well Market umbrella.

The private-label landscape is experiencing a shift of sorts as retailers turn to more affordable food that is also healthier. In late April Walmart unveiled its Bettergoods line which comes with healthy options.

“Our goal at CVS Health is to be the most consumer-centric healthcare solutions company,” said Musab Balbale, chief merchandising officer for CVS Health. “Through this repositioning and expansion of our food and beverage portfolio we are doing more by providing new nutritious options.”

Some of the Well Market products include Turmeric Curry Trail Mix, Sea Salt Rustic Plantain Chips, and Dark Chocolate Lightly Dipped Cashews.

Well Market is also showing an innovative side with flavor-infused sprouted almonds, including Salt & Vinegar, Zesty Dill Pickle, and Maple Cinnamon. CVS Health claims the almonds are a first-to-market line.

Most items in the Well Market line are priced between $2.99 and $8.99.

CVS Health operates 9,292 stores in the U.S. as of April 1, according to ScrapeHero.
