Price Chopper Ramps Up Pinterest Strategy

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — Price Chopper is working to build interest in its Pinterest board by soliciting new board themes and guest pinners.

“We’re always looking for ideas for new board themes — comment below if you have any suggestions,” Price Chopper wrote on its Facebook page last week.

Among customers’ suggestions:

* A “de-stress” board with quotes and good food to eat to lessen stress.

* A board focusing on meals that can be made from weekly sales items.

* A board for organic/vegetarian/vegan recipes form ingredients that Price Chopper stocks.

In the same Facebook post, Price Chopper asked shoppers to become a guest pinner by emailing the chain at [email protected] with their Pinterest usernames.

The goal is to help Price Chopper get to 1,000 followers on Pinterest. As of Monday, the retailer had 989 Pinterest followers.
