The store opening Saturday is located in Kingwood, Texas, and will be the fourth Marketplace store in the Houston market, a spokeswoman for Kroger’s Houston division here told SN Tuesday.
Marketplace stores include extensive nonfood items including furniture, home goods and apparel in addition to a full grocery.
New Marketplace stores are set to open next year in Spring (first quarter) and Cypress. Kroger also plans to open a new store in Humble, Texas, in the second quarter. The spokeswoman declined to disclose the size of the investment in the market.
