arket Services here has named Ed Martin vice president of retail client service and John Burwick vice president of retailer Efficient Consumer Response implementation. Both are new positions.

Martin, who brings 25 years of supermarket experience to his new position, most recently served as director of information systems at Save Mart Supermarkets, Modesto, Calif. Prior to Save Mart, Martin held posts at Nielsen Marketing Research, Northbrook, Ill., and Lucky Stores, Dublin, Calif.

As vice president of retail client service, Martin will be responsible for Western region account management and for providing technical expertise to retail management information systems departments.

Burwick joined EMS last fall after more than 20 years with Kroger Co., Cincinnati, where his last title was general manager of merchandising systems.

Burwick will work with about a dozen accounts and serve as liaison between EMS and Nielsen in a cooperative effort to develop ECR services for retailers.

Associate Partner Named at Andersen

SAN FRANCISCO -- Andersen Consulting, Chicago, has named Craig D. Brennan associate partner in the firm's change management services division here.

Brennan previously served as director of marketing services at Safeway, Oakland, Calif., where he designed and developed many key systems for the chain, including electronic data interchange, pricing, space management, category management, promotional and frequent-shopper programs.

In the new position, Brennan will assist manufacturer and retailer clients with large-scale re-engineering projects involving systems and organizational changes.
