Howler Unveils Organic Gelato Line

SAN FRANCISCO -- Howler Products based here has introduced a new line of frozen dessert, called Organic Gelato. The new product uses ingredients grown in the habitat of the hooting howler monkeys of Central American rainforests, which accounts for the company's name. The company, which also makes Howler Rainforest Sorbet, buys fruit and other ingredients from Mexico, Brazil, Costa Rica, Guatemala, the Caribbean, Peru and Paraguay.

Supplies are holding solid despite the devastation caused by Hurricane Mitch, which struck parts of Central America earlier this month, according to a company spokeswoman, Andrea Linton of Oasis Sales and Marketing, Sebastopol, Calif.

Organic Gelato, gourmet Italian-style ice cream, comes in seven flavors: Mocha Chocolate Chip, Aztec Cappuccino, Vanilla Bean, Dark Forest Chocolate, Chocolate Orange Passion, Mayan Blackberries & Cream and Chocolate Hazelnut.
