Cheese to Get a Health Angle
consin Milk Marketing Board here is launching a national retail cheese promotion with Cooking Light magazine.
The promotion, built around the way cheese can fit into today's ideas of a healthy diet, has five elements: using variety, balance and moderation in food selection; exploring new food partnership ideas; making the most of flavor; learning cheese nutrition options, and planning for occasional indulgences, according to the board.
Point-of-sale merchandising kits, which include deli counter cards, a mobile, a hanging literature dispenser and a minimobile, are designed to work with the board's standard point-of-purchase kits.
As part of the promotion, a story in the October issue of Cooking Light will feature recipes using Wisconsin specialty cheeses from chefs across the country.
