Noreast Adds Earthbound Line
of Boston here is introducing Earthbound Farm's line of specialty salad kits on the East Coast.
Under the terms of a co-packing agreement, Earthbound, based in Watsonville, Calif., will ship its products directly from California and Arizona to Noreast's facility here. The produce will be washed, sorted and bagged here.
As a regional processor, Noreast Fresh will be able to deliver salad kits on a daily basis, according to Chris Rogers, executive vice president of Noreast.
Earthbound Farms offers a line of organic and conventionally grown specialty salads.
Pallet Group Sets Open Meeting
ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- The Produce Pallet Working Group will hold an open meeting during the Produce Marketing Association's Convention and Exposition in San Diego.
During the meeting, to be held at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 14, the group will hear an in-depth report on the California tree fruit industry. An update on pallet rental systems will also be on the agenda, along with reports from the California strawberry, grape and melon industries.
The Produce Pallet Working Group, a forum to advance industrywide adoption of reusable 48- by 40-inch pallets, was formed by the United Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Association here and the Produce Marketing Association, Newark, Del. The group has been discussing, publicizing and developing a consensus for a voluntary pallet standard.
Linsey Introduces Greek Salad Kit
MARKHAM, Ontario -- Linsey Foods here has introduced the Authentic Greek Salad Kit, the latest addition to the company's "Et Tu Caesar" salad kit line.
The salad kit includes feta cheese vinaigrette, black olives, sun-dried tomatoes and croutons. The company recommends the boxed salad kits, which do not contain lettuce or greens, be merchandised in the produce department.
Linsey's Et Tu Caesar line also includes Original Caesar, Light Caesar, Italian Style and Classic spinach.
