DEVILS LAKE, N.C. -- Funeral services were held here last week for Norman Leevers, a retired retail operator here.
1970, when he turned the multistore business over to his sons. The company, which ended its IGA affiliation years ago, includes eight stores in North Dakota and Wisconsin operating as Leevers Foods and four in Colorado operating as Leevers Supermarkets, although the stores do business under a variety of names.
Leevers is survived by his wife Marjorie; his son Bob, who runs the North Dakota and Wisconsin stores; his son Jack, who runs the Colorado stores; grandsons Chris and John, who are involved in the family businesses; and grandson James, who said he intends to make the grocery business his career.
