SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- SAP America, Philadelphia, and Intel Corp., Santa Clara, Calif., have announced a joint venture to assist retailers in processing orders and managing inventory for on-line electronic commerce.
provider will assist retailers with order processing, fulfillment, inventory pricing and management, payment processing, shipping, logistics, vendor orders and payments, as well as other functions associated with transactions on the Web.
Harold E. Hughes Jr., vice president and director of planning and logistics and former chief financial officer at Intel, will become chairman of Pandesic. Brian Plug, executive vice president of SAP America, will hold the positions of president and chief executive officer. Pandesic will initially be staffed by employees of SAP and Intel, according to Paul Wahl, CEO of SAP America.
