Kroger Marketing Vendor Gets Award

BALTIMORE — Marketing communications firm Vertis Communications here announced that it received the first place Web Offset Association Print Award from Printing Industries of America for a direct marketing program on behalf of Cincinnati-based Kroger, created in partnership with DunnhumbyUSA.

BALTIMORE — Marketing communications firm Vertis Communications here announced that it received the first place Web Offset Association Print Award from Printing Industries of America for a direct marketing program on behalf of Cincinnati-based Kroger Co., created in partnership with DunnhumbyUSA.

DunnhumbyUSA is a joint venture of London-based Dunnhumby and Kroger.

The campaign included a box pop-up mailer format with an attached Bonus Savings loyalty card. Each piece was versioned with featured brand products and special discounts based on Kroger loyalty customers' historical product preferences.

"DunnhumbyUSA believes in a collaborative, customer-centric approach to marketing communications," said Greg Rouse, vice president of production, communications and media at DunnhumbyUSA, Cincinnati, in a statement. "Through this program and our partnership with Vertis, we are helping Kroger build better relationships with its customers by providing them with the most relevant and meaningful information."
