GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Spartan Stores here on Friday said it has kicked off its expanded Michigan's Best campaign highlighting products made in its home state.
The retailer and wholesaler will promote 3,000 products across a broad spectrum of categories at its 97 corporate stores and through 250 independent customers, using the Michigan's Best label. Spartan also promotes the campaign at the shopmichigansbest.com website and through in-store promotions, including signs, weekly specials and a children's coloring contest.
The campaign first kicked of in 2009 and has since been expanded to include more products.
"We have been delighted at consumer response of our Michigan's Best campaign, which affords consumers the ability to support our state economy," said Alan Hartline, executive vice president of merchandising and marketing for Spartan Stores.
