SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. — Stater Bros. Markets said it will hold a "moment of silence" at exactly 9:11 a.m. Sunday, the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.

Store managers at each Stater store will make an announcement asking all customers and employees inside the store to pause for 60 seconds; the same memorial ceremony will also be held at the company's distribution center and corporate offices for all employees working at that time.

"This is a time when we need to all connect as Americans," Jack H. Brown, chairman and chief executive officer, said.

The chain will also rerun a tribute poster in its newspaper ads this weekend, that originally ran after the attacks; and 2,000 posters will be handed out to customers and employees at each store.
