Four cities in Texas are among the top five U.S. metropolitan areas for retail growth in the next two years, according to a survey by Pitney Bowes Business Insight.

STAMFORD, Conn. — Four cities in Texas are among the top five U.S. metropolitan areas for retail growth in the next two years, according to a survey by Pitney Bowes Business Insight here.

The metro areas of Austin, Houston, Dallas and San Antonio — along with Seattle — comprise the areas with the greatest potential to fare better than others for sales recovery or growth through 2010, according to Pitney Bowes. The group identified the top markets by analyzing sales history and stability over the last six quarters in various retail categories, including drug stores and value retailers.
