It’s March once again and we’re feeling the madness!
During the month of March, Supermarket News will hold the second annual “SN Top News Tournament” contest — a bracket-style game where you get to vote on what you think was the top grocery story of 2023.

First round games include:
- Sobeys vegetable supplier calls it quits vs. Kroger, Walmart fruit supplier files for Chapter 11
- Walgreens, CVS pharmacists may be planning a nationwide walkout vs. Amazon could look to acquire Kroger, Albertsons stores
- Aldi acquisition: CEO says the company will convert a ‘significant’ number of acquired stores vs. Google drone company Wing to open 2nd Dallas Walmart location
- Kroger, Albertsons may need to divest even more stores vs. Baby Boomers, Gen Z have different grocery habits during time of inflation
Each week, we’ll pit a different round of top stories against each other, based on the votes from the previous week. Cast your vote on what you think was the most important story in grocery last year. The story finalists will advance to the semifinals, which will ultimately determine the SN Top News champion. The more participation we receive, the more fun it will be, so take just a few minutes of your morning and hop on social to pick the winners.
