Schnuck shoppers are thanking the retailer for its just-announced pharmacy program offering breast cancer medications for $9.
Among the comments posted on the retailer's Facebook page:
You rock pink Schnucks
Thanks Schnucks for helping the breast cancer pt's with the cost of their medication which can be really expensive.
Schnucks is offering four medications — Letrozole 2.5mg/30-count; Megestrol 40mg/60-count; Anastrozole, 1mg/30-count; Tamoxifen 10mg/60-count; and Tamoxifen 20mg/30-count — for $9 with a prescription.
In an interview with the St. Louis Post Dispatch, Bob Buganski, director of Schnucks pharmacy operations, described the program as a courtesy for breast cancer patients:
“The drugs have always been offered but just not at this everyday $9 price,” he said.
