Ahold Mulls Sale of ICA Stake

AMSTERDAM — Ahold here said Tuesday it would explore “strategic options” for its 60% stake in Swedish retailer ICA, including a possible initial public offering.

Ahold, which owns the Stop & Shop, Giant-Landover and Giant-Carlisle banners in the U.S., said it wants to focus its growth strategies on the businesses it controls.
