PURCHASE, N.Y. — Stop & Shop will bring its Gas Rewards to customers in the Garden State Monday in partnership with 135 Shell stations.
The program was initially launched in New England and New York in 2010 but until recently fuel rewards were prohibited in New Jersey. That changed earlier this year when a new law authorized retailers in the state to host these programs, and fuel dealers to distribute coupons good for items at their supermarket partner’s stores.
For every dollar spent at Stop & Shop customers will earn one point, and for every 100 points earned they will receive 10 cents off per gallon on their next fuel purchase at participating New Jersey Shell stations.

Participants will be able to save up to $2.20 per gallon by shopping at Stop & Shop and presenting their loyalty card. Unlike other states, the discount will not appear at the pump but will be reflected on the customer’s receipt. Once points are earned they can be redeemed at any participating Shell station within 30 days from the date of purchase.
