CEO Nicole Pesco said that 50% of the store represents “things that we've never done before,” such as a ceviche bar.

A centerpiece is the Produce Stall, where produce chopping specialists will dice, chop, slice and juice fruit and vegetables to order.

Along with a wide selection of wine, including local offerings, wine specialists are on hand to help customers make the best pairings with food.

The Tipping Point, Save Mart’s first in-store restaurant, features a signature entrée of tri-tip barbecued steak served in a wet or dry sandwich, torta, taco or salad, as well as whole.

The Market Deli serves up fresh, made-to-order foods with regional flavors, such as the chicken tender torta, part of a new sandwich program.

Plans call for prepared foods from the store’s kitchen and service deli, as well as The Tipping Point’s menu, to become available for DoorDash delivery.

Besides locally sourced fruit and vegetables, the produce department features an ample assortment of organic fare.

The meat department features an in-house smoker that allows customers to order brisket, ribs, pork shoulder and sausage smoked overnight.
