Whole Foods Market opened a new store in Madison, Wis. Wednesday and announced its opening a location in South Windsor, Conn. in mid-January.
The new 50,000-square foot store in Madison, located at 4710 Madison Yards Way, is a relocation of an existing Whole Foods store, formerly located at 3313 University Ave., the Amazon-owned grocer noted in a press release.
The store features more than 700 products sourced from Midwest vendors, the company said.
“Joining the Madison Yards community allows us to welcome our neighbors in, to not only grocery shop but to enjoy a brand new coffee bar, expanded prepared foods section and additional spaces both inside and outside the store for gathering,” said Paul Sigmund, store team leader for Whole Foods Market, in a statement.
The grocer also donated a refrigerated van to The River Food Pantry, a food rescue organization.
Whole Foods also announced it is opening a 43,406-square-foot store at The Shops at Evergreen Walk shopping center in South Windsor on Jan. 17. The store, slated to open at 801 Evergreen Way, is Whole Foods’ fifth location in the Hartford area, the company said.
It will feature more than 1,000 locally sourced items from throughout New England. For the South Windsor store, Whole Foods is donating a refrigerated van to Gifts of Love, a food rescue organization.
The company is promoting the opening day with a limited-edition tote bag and a “secret saver” coupon with offers throughout the store.
