HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, N.J. -- The Eastern Perishable Products Association will zero in on ethnic marketing with two seminars to be held during its Annual Taste Show & Exhibition, Oct. 17 and 18, at the Meadowlands Exposition Center, Secaucus, N.J.

haired by Norman Remler, director of Vista Sales, and Jerry Romanoff, president of Nebraska Meat Corp., and it will be moderated by Denys Williams, Pathmark Stores, Carteret, N.J. Speakers include a representative from Wakefern Corp., Elizabeth, N.J., operators of ShopRite supermarkets.

Frank Kelczewski, director of category management for the American Dairy Association, Syracuse, N.Y., will moderate the dairy panel. Representatives from retail and manufacturing will among the speakers.

The Hispanic market, comprising the fastest-growing segment of our population, has very particular buying habits, favoring whole milk and full-fat cheeses, for instance, Kelczewski pointed out. "But we'll try to make retailers aware, too, of how fragmented this market is. It's by no means a monolith. You need to know who your customers are," Kelczewski said.

This is the first time in several years that the EPPA show will be held at the Meadowlands Exposition Center, which is just 10 to 15 minutes from midtown Manhattan. In recent years, the event has been held at the New Jersey Convention Center in Edison.
